XmlSpawner Basics.
XmlSpawner by ArteGordon.
So we now have a basic understanding of the xmlspawner lets get something to spawn, for this we will have a mongbat spawn for testing purposes.
On the main gump of the spawner, lets type in mongbat, and after we have done that, click the arrow on the left side up one, so that we have a "Count" of 0 and a "Max" of 1... this is in lamans terms, a Maximum of 1 Mongbat with a current spawn of 0.
After we have setup the mongbat as the spawn (above) we need to go into the "props" and setup the various things in there (see Props page)... we shall for this test setup the follow in "Props"..
"HomeRange" 5..... "MaxCount" should be auto set to , if it isn`t adjust that to 1.... "MinDelay" we will set to 5 Seconds (00:00:05) and the "MaxDelay" to 10 Seconds (00:00:10).... "ProximityRange" we shall leave at -1, (this tells the spawner to spawn the monster no matter what)... "SpawnRange" should be set by default to 5, if its not adjust that to 5.... and thats all we need.
You would of noticed that any changes you make will make the text "green" in colour, this is a nice touch from Arte as we can see from a glance what we have modified and what its set to.
Right Click the "props" gump to close it, and turn "on" the spawner, within 5 to 10 seconds a mongbat will spawn... Congratulations..!
Lastly if you click on the "Respawn" button once or twice, you will notice the mongbat spawns around the spawner upto a maximum of 5 tiles, as we have set it to on "SpawnRange".. by altering this we can spawn the monster/monsters closer or futher away from the spawner, but please remember to adjust your "HomeRange" as well, to allow the monster to Roam.
This pretty much covers the basics of monster spawning on xmlspawner, of course you can add more monsters if you wanted to, for example you could add Orc underneath Mongbat and clicking the arrow on the left up one, to give you a "Random" spawn of either an Orc or a Mongbat.. your "Max" (in red) would need to be at 1, this would then only allow a maximum of 1 monster to spawn at a time, either the mongbat or the orc, by increasing the number on each monster spawn, you could tailor make your spawn, having a better control over how many spawn and at what ratio.. you could have 3 mongbats and 1 orc for example, or 2 of each.. the choice really is upto you, by setting the Max in red, and the Count in Green you can have any combination you desire.
